"The camera fell upon the victim, even as did the Hound. The victim was seized by Hound and camera in a great spidering, clenchin grip. He screamed. He screamed. He screamed!" pg 149
The police have just picked a guy in the streets to be Montag because they can't find him anywhere. I think that Bradbury made the connection with a spider to show that the victim had no where to go and was surrounded by all the spiders legs which represented the police and helicopters all around.

Water
"Behind him he heard the lawn sprinkling system jump up, filling the dark air with rain that fell gently and then with a steady pour all about, washing on the sidewalks and draining into the alley. He carried a few drops of this rain with him on his face." pg.136
In this passage Bradbury uses the water to show that it can clean things and make them fresh and new. The sprinklers are getting rid of the scents so that the hound won't be able to notice them anymore. It is cleaning up the mess that Montag left behind.
